1999 – 2001 MA in Cultural Studies (Film Studies), Faculty of Philology, University of Lodz (Lodz, Poland).
1995 – 1999 BA in Art Studies, Faculty of Arts, Vytautas Magnus University (Kaunas, Lithuania).
Doctorate and postdoctoral fellowship
2008 obtained PhD (Humanities, Art Studies) at Vytautas Magnus University, Faculty of Arts. Title of the dissertation: Media Art in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia in the Second Part of the 20th Century –21st Century: Institutional and Artistic Development. Supervisor – prof. dr. Ryszard. W. Kluszczynski (University of Lodz, Poland), research consultant dr. Audronė Žukauskaitė (Lithuanian Culture Research Institute).
2011–2012 - Postdoctoral fellowship at Lithuanian Culture Research Institute, research topic Small Cinema in Global Context: Filmmaking of Šarūnas Bartas (research adviser dr. Audronė Žukauskaitė).
Membership in professional organisations
She is a member of European Network for Cinema and Media Studies (NECS) and Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies (ASEEES), as well Lithuanian Filmmakers Union.
Current research interests include Lithuanian and Baltic political and social theme films from the 1990 to the present; neoliberal transformation in Lithuanian and Eastern European cinema and audiovisual culture; film as a form of national and transnational collective memory.
