In 2014, Žilvinas Svigaris defended his doctoral degree in humanities (philosophy) at Vilnius University after preparing his dissertation under the mentoring of prof. Arūnas Sverdiolas (consultant Arvydas Šliogeris). In 2008 he defended his master's degree in philosophy at Vilnius University, in 1998 he defended his master's degree in economics at Kaunas University of Technology, in 1996 he defended his bachelor's degree in economics, and in 1996 he defended his bachelor's degree in computer science at Kaunas University of Technology.
Fields of scientific research: hermeneutics, ontology, phenomenology, comparative studies, anthropology, cultural dialogue, Zen aesthetics, archaic Lithuanian culture and the cultural contexts of its development, čiurlionistics.
