The Monograpfy would be Volume 2 of the voluminous edition of a thesaurus-type research monograph “Etymological Dictionary of Baltic Mythologemes”, prepared by R. Kregždys. Volume 2 would be composed of four parts.
Part 1 of the book would provide structural analysis of the most important source of the Baltic mythology of the 16th century – “Der vnglaubigen Sudauen ihrer bockheiligung mit sambt andern Ceremonien, so sie tzu brauchen gepflegeth” (i.e. “The Yatvigian book”).
Analytical Part 2 would analyse the origin of all mythonyms (Deywoty Zudwity, Ockopirmus, Swayxtix etc.) recorded in the Yatvigian book.
Part 3 would look into the most archaic sacrifice rites of Yatvigian people, would analyse a worshipping tradition of deities, plight and funeral rituals, as well as search custom of stolen things in the identification of the parallelism of syncretic traditions of other IE tribes to be related to functional subordination of the mythologemes discussed in Part 2 of the book.
Part 4 would detail the most significant characteristics of the Yatvigian language, and the trends and causes of changes of the phonetic or morphological typological system of Baltic languages whose are of special importance for the reconstruction of the protoforms of mythonyms analyzed in Part 2.
Volume 2 of thesaurus-type research monograph “Etymological Dictionary of Baltic Mythologemes II: “The Yatvigian book”” would be devoted both for specialist in linguistics, mythology, ethnology or culturology and also for everybody who would be interested in the research of ancient religion and mythology of Baltic peoples and other IE tribes.
